One position.
Every archive.
A citeable report in seconds.

Paste a name, an RA/Dec, or a known identifier. Astro Deep Search resolves the source, fans out concurrent queries to SIMBAD, VizieR, the CDS image services, arXiv, OpenAlex, and (optionally) ADS, and assembles a publication-grade dossier — every fact hyperlinked to the archive, catalog row, or paper it came from.

Settings

NASA ADS API key (optional)

Bring your own key to unlock the ADS literature tier: refereed-only filtering, advanced query syntax, and full citation networks. Your key is stored in your browser only — it is never sent to any server except api.adsabs.harvard.edu directly. Get a key at ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/user/settings/token.

Diagnostics

Run a live self-test against every endpoint the app uses, with NGC 1275 as the probe source. Useful after deploy, or for verifying that an archive is reachable from your network.

Storage

Search history is stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB).

About Astro Deep Search

Astro Deep Search resolves any astronomical position to a comprehensive dossier built from open archives. The browser fans out concurrent queries to SIMBAD, VizieR, CDS image services, arXiv, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, and Crossref. NED, HEASARC, MAST and similar archives are accessed through thin Cloudflare Workers proxies (no logging, no user data).

Every fact in the dossier links to its source. Catalog rows link to the VizieR catalog. Bibcodes link to ADS. Imaging cutouts link to the originating HiPS survey. The report is reproducible — re-running surfaces what's new since last visit.

Built as a companion to EuKosmos, the local-first research workspace. Open source. No accounts. No tracking. Ad-free.

Please acknowledge the originating archives in any publication using this tool. Each section of the dossier provides the canonical acknowledgement text on hover.
